Frequently asked questions.
What can I expect at a typical appointment?
Every appointment will be 100% one-on-one with your therapist. You can expect to spend 55-60 minutes at your initial evaluation and follow-up visits. Each session will include a combination of assessment, manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, and patient education to start incorporating at home.
How many visits will it take?
This will vary greatly from person to person, depending on what you’re being treated for, how long you’ve been dealing with the issue and other factors that play a role in your recovery. Typically you’ll see your therapist once a week at the beginning of your program and work towards coming in every 2-3 weeks as you continue to improve.
Do I need a referral from my Physician or Midwife?
NO! Oklahoma is now a limited direct-access state for Physical Therapy. This means you no longer need a referral to get started with pelvic floor physical therapy! The sooner you receive treatment for your injury or disfunction, the faster you will get well! After we complete your initial evaluation, we will send our Plan of Care to your current provider so they can be up to date on your treatment.
Do you accept insurance?
We currently take Health Choice and Zero Health (Life Church).
Otherwise, Cornelson Physical Therapy is an out-of-network practice. By being out-of-network with insurance companies, we are able to provide superior, one-on-one care and services you need to improve much more quickly. We work for the PATIENT, not the insurance companies!
When you are in-network, we are greatly limited in what services we can provided based solely on what insurance will reimburse. Insurance puts a cap on how much money they will pay and limits the amount of time we spend with our patients.
We are more than happy to provide you with a Super Bill for each visit per request, so you can mail it to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
We also accept HSA and FSA for payments.
